The client, who was born and raised in the area and has a strong attachment to the community, lamented this situation and hoped that his store would transcend its purpose and become a place that blends into the daily life of the community. The barbershop before the renovation was also loved by the community, but it was facing demolition with the aging of the owner.

Considering the client's wishes and the changes in the surrounding area, we thought it necessary for this project to make the best use of the barbershop's past, which had been loved by the community, in the new store and to keep it close to the memory of this place. All demolition work was done by hand, and fixtures from the barbershop era, such as mirrors and wooden fittings in the disinfection room, were carefully salvaged and reinstalled in their original locations. The existing wooden framework and mud walls were also carefully represented, with a conscious effort to express the 60 years of time. The newly inserted counters, shelves, floors, and ceilings are all in abstract "white" to unify the barbershop's past, which lacked a sense of unity and had a disparate color palette, and to give the impression of a new community focal point. This is due in part to the fact that the original barbershop was also white, with only the vertical surface of the sign, the symbol of the store, being white.

The second floor is a large one-room space that is usually used for eating and drinking but can also be rented out for events. In addition, while the upper and lower floors of a two-story store can sometimes be disconnected, some of the second-floor floors have been dismantled to create an atrium, allowing light, air, and other elements to flow through. The furniture to be installed in the store is mainly antique furniture originally owned by the client. The furniture was placed in a balanced manner to connect the fixtures from the 60-year-old barbershop era with the newly inserted "white. The aim was to create a space where the three elements, those that have been here, those that will spend time here, and those that have spent time elsewhere, are in harmony with each other, creating a space that allows visitors to experience a mysterious axis of time.
